{"product_id":"leckey-mark-exorcism-of-the-bridge-eastham-rake","title":"Leckey, Mark - Exorcism of the Bridge @ Eastham Rake |","description":"The broadly musical ideas of remixing, sampling and recreating are\nconstants in Mark Leckey’s work. From disembodied reggae soundsystems\ninstalled in white-cube galleries to post-Artificial Intelligence\ncomputer graphics, and spectral light boxes featuring none other than a\nfamiliarly voluptuous and bikini-clad Richard D. James, it was perhaps\nonly a matter of time before a full-blown collaboration with Warp materialised.\nLeckey’s 2017 exhibition Bridge Age Regression mutated out of the\nlarge-scale survey of his work shown at New York’s MoMA PS1, and is a\nrefracted view of his memories and internal mythologizing of a motorway\nbridge on the M53 in Birkenhead near his childhood home. Life-size\nportions of overpass, a scale model and sodium-lamp lighting all create a\nhallucinatory ‘bridge’ (natch) into Leckey’s twisted mind…\"The orange\nsodium lights are called Sox Lamps and they were installed everywhere\nup until the 1990s, I think. They’ve been phased out now. The Lucozade\nglow they give off was always an indicator that you were coming up on\nmagic mushrooms, psychedelics would amplify that colour saturation, or\nrather that leaching out of all other colour. I want the lamps to do the\nsame thing… put you in that altered state.”","brand":"Love Vinyl Records","offers":[{"title":"- ELECTRONIC *NEW*","offer_id":49263844688114,"sku":"CBZRW3-PYAX-MH","price":24.9,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0830\/7018\/9810\/files\/electronic-new_Diweb.jpg?v=1779751875","url":"https:\/\/discandvinyl.com\/products\/leckey-mark-exorcism-of-the-bridge-eastham-rake","provider":"DiscandVinyl.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
