Aaron Parks came up through the ranks of jazz's most demanding environments, spending years as a sideman for the likes of Terence Blanchard and Kurt Rosenwinkel before stepping into his own voice as a leader. His Blue Note debut, *Invisible Cinema*, announced a musician thinking seriously about space, texture, and the boundary between acoustic jazz and something harder to name. *By All Means* finds him returning to that contemplative register, now with a decade more of bandleading behind him.
Vinyl LP pressing. Pianist and composer Aaron Parks expands his trio with bassist Ben Street and drummer Billy Hart into a quartet with the addition of tenor saxophonist Ben Solomon on his luminous third Blue Note album, By All Means. Although Parks has made his band Little Big the center of his recorded output in recent years, he never stopped writing music that belonged to a different harmonic universe influenced by the likes of Wayne Shorter, Horace Silver, Duke Ellington, Joe Henderson, and others.
