The third CD released by Satoru Ajimine, a popular jazz pianist from Kansai,is a unique collection of jazz standards as well as anime and J-POP masterpieces, all performed entirely on solo piano.This is the third album from jazz pianist Satoru Anjimine, who is active mainly in the Kansai region. He has released two CDs to date: 'For Lovers' (BLUE LAB RECORDS, 2009) and 'To Sing From Memory' (Waon Records, 2017). Anjimine is currently 65 years old. While performing live in the Kansai region, he also runs the music school Real Music Studio, where he trains the next generation of musicians. He is a sideman with jazz guitarist Kazuhiko Takeda's trio, and has released three CDs. He is also well-known as a vocal accompanist.This CD features 14 solo piano pieces. Five jazz standards, two originals (essentially different versions of the same song), one classical piece, and one chanson-not particularly unusual for a jazz pianist. The album also includes one anime piece (Tanjiro Kamado's Song) and four J-POP pieces (Hikoukigumo, Too Far Away, Hatsukoi, and Neyuki). While Anjime's roots lie in jazz, his repertoire has expanded beyond jazz, making this a natural fit for him. While more than twice the number of songs played during recording were included, Anjime himself listened to them repeatedly and narrowed them down to 14 pieces (13 songs plus one original version). This album is a songbook by Satoru Anjime, in which he meticulously sings each and every piece.This CD is the first release from the new label ShinRec. In the past, they have produced six CDs through Waon Records and other labels.
