Glasgow's beloved chamber-pop architects made a deliberate turn toward bright, danceable pop on *The Life Pursuit*, a shift that surprised longtime fans while winning the band a whole new audience. Recorded in Los Angeles, the album's sun-soaked energy felt like a conscious step away from the hushed, bookish introversion that defined their early Jeepster recordings.
2014 reissue of 2006's 2LP vinyl with download code. Repackaged in a resealable Mylar bag with customized obi strip. With band leader Stuart Murdoch and producer Trevor Horn back at the helm, Belle & Sebastian retains its musical backbone while expanding their musical comfort zone into jazz, blues and a little glam rock! Of course, the folk sensibilities and wit remain at the very core of the band. This reissued double album on vinyl captures the sound and essence of their sonic expansion perfectly. Songs include "Another Sunny Day," "White Collar Boy," "We Are the Sleepyheads," "The Blues Are Still Blue," "Sukie in the Graveyard," "To Be Myself Completely" and more.
