The 2019 documentary that bears her name draws on hours of interview recordings made by journalist Linda Lipnack Kuehl, who spent years tracking down the people closest to Holiday before her own tragic death left the project unfinished. That buried oral history, finally surfaced decades later, gives this soundtrack its emotional weight, pairing those revelations with live interpretations of the songs Holiday made iconic.

It features her band, The Sonhouse All Stars performing her classic works including "I Only Have Eyes For You," "God Bless The Child," "Strange Fruit" and more. The film features newly unearthed interviews from those who knew Holiday best - Charles Mingus, Tony Bennett, Sylvia Syms and Count Basie among them.
