Brigitte Fontaine's 1969 collaboration with the Art Ensemble of Chicago remains one of the most radical intersections of French chanson and avant-garde jazz ever committed to tape. Recorded with Areski Belkacem and the AEC at their creative peak during their Paris exile years, the original *Comme à la Radio* became a cult touchstone that influenced generations of artists working at the edges of pop and free improvisation. This expanded edition surfaces additional broadcast material that deepens the picture of just how far outside the boundaries Fontaine was willing to go.
