A Gift from a Flower to a Garden of Dreams [Blu-spec CD2] [Limited Edition] / Donovan - Part of the Donovan Paper Sleeve Collection, this special reissue celebrates the singular singer-songwriter Donovan, whose unique artistry captivated audiences from the late 1960s through the early 1970s, commemorating both the 60th anniversary of his 2025 debut and the 80th anniversary of his birth in 2026. Reissued for the first time in paper-sleeve format, this edition faithfully recreates the original US LP as closely as possible, including the inner sleeve, while also featuring a replica of the Japanese LP obi (CSB Sony obi), a 2026 remaster, high-quality Blu-spec CD2 format, newly written liner notes, and lyrics with Japanese translations. Originally released as two separate albums, Donovan was dissatisfied with the outcome and, against label opposition, reissued the project in the ambitious two-disc form he had intended: the first disc is an electric album aimed at adults of his own generation entering married life, while the second is an acoustic album dedicated to the children who would inherit the future. A major work that reached No. 19 in the US, it has previously only been available on CD in a condensed single-disc format, but this release finally restores Donovan's original vision as a true two-disc set. First released in 1968, this edition also marks the title's first paper-sleeve release, produced from a reproduction of the original Japanese LP jacket and including replica Japanese LP obi and LP booklet inserts.
