Rod Stewart famously refused to sing on the title track, leaving Ronnie Wood and Ronnie Lane to handle vocals on what became one of rock's most enduring closers. That tension behind the scenes made Ooh La La the band's swan song, with Lane's fingerprints all over the album's loose, warm-hearted soul, a fitting farewell from one of the great live acts of the early seventies.
