Tokyo's For Tracy Hyde built their name on an almost architectural approach to noise and melody, layering guitars the way My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive did before them, but always with a distinctly Japanese sensibility. Knowing this is the band's farewell statement gives Hotel Insomnia a particular weight; limited pressings of final albums from cult favorites have a way of disappearing fast and staying gone.
For Tracy Hyde's fifth and final studio album, Hotel Insomnia, represents the culmination of the band's artistic evolution. Having earned a devoted following not only in Japan but also across Asia, Europe, and North America, the band further expanded it's sound following Ethernity, embracing elements of alternative rock, grunge, and slowcore while continuing to push the boundaries of modern shoegaze and dream pop. 2LP set on clear green color vinyl.
