EU-only two CD set. Contains the complete original studio sessions Dizzy Gillespie made showcasing his wonderful big band of the mid-Fifties, which featured such talents as Quincy Jones, Lee Morgan, Joe Gordon, Melba Liston, Al Grey, Phil Woods, Benny Golson and Wynton Kelly. All sides taped by this band at the studio during the period 1956-57 are included here, among them the complete contents of the LPs WORLD STATESMAN, DIZZY IN GREECE and BIRKS' WORKS. Rounding out this set, we have added a three-tune 1956 date by the same band originally issued on the ARS label and two alternate takes from the Verve sessions.
