Demon Days arrived at a moment when the music world was still sorting out what Gorillaz actually were, a virtual band, a Damon Albarn solo project, a concept album with a cast of thousands. What Albarn and Jamie Hewlett had quietly built was something harder to categorize: a record that moved between hip-hop, post-punk, gospel, and electronic music without losing its thread. Half-speed mastering pulls every layer of that dense production into sharper focus, rewarding the kind of close listening the album has always deserved.
The second studio album from Gorillaz, Demon Days saw the introduction of the band’s aptitude for creative collaboration with guests such as De La Soul, MF Doom, Neneh Cherry, Roots Manuva and Shaun Ryder. Released to critical acclaim in 2005, this "genre-busting, contemporary pop milestone" [MOJO] featured now-signature tracks including the Grammy-winning ‘Feel Good Inc.’, ‘Dirty Harry’ and ‘DARE’, as well as the expansion of the Gorillaz world with innovations across visuals, multi-media and animation.
Each vinyl is individually hand-pressed, making every copy unique. Colour blends and patterns will vary.
