South London's Jim Legxacy made one of the more quietly radical statements in recent UK music by centering an entire project on experiences the industry typically keeps offstage. Rooted in the DIY mixtape tradition but drawing from a remarkably wide sonic palette, the project found a community of listeners who recognized something real in it, and its arrival on vinyl gives that music the physical weight it always deserved.
Jim Legxacy's mixtape homeless n*gga pop music arrives on LP & CD for the first time via XL Recordings. The 3x BRIT Award nominated and MOBO Award winning artist broke through with the 2023 project to critical acclaim, with the South-Londoner grappling with his relationships, identity, and homelessness. The mixtape is an impressive collision of midwest emo guitar samples, UK drill, afrobeats, and Jersey club, not only reshaping what UK music can sound like, but what it can stand for - a bold, fully-formed record that could only have come from one mind.
