The late John Renbourn is one of the legends of British folk rock, playing alongside other legends like Bert Jansch (with whom he founded Pentangle in 1965) before going on to a long solo career, making 21 albums before his death in 2015 and recording for a number of great labels including Transatlantic, Reprise, Columbia, Flying Fish and Shanachie. This concert recording was recently discovered and was found, to the delight of those who'd originally been there, to be a perfect document of what sound to have been an exceedingly pleasant night. "Live In Kyoto 1978" features John Renbourn in prime form, with a wizard-like ability on the fretboard and a bottomless bag of songs to play!
