Metabolist occupies a strange and fascinating corner of British post-punk history, a Sheffield outfit whose abrasive, industrial-tinged sound predated much of what came to define the era. Hansten Klork, originally self-released in limited quantities, has long circulated among collectors as a cult artifact. Getting this onto double vinyl is the kind of archival work that reminds you how much vital music slipped through the cracks the first time around.
