Before Eugne Ysaes six solo sonatas /written 1923/24) or Zoltn Szkelys solo sonata (written 1919/20), the established solo violin repertoire was limited to Bachs Sonatas and Partitas and Paganinis 24 Caprices. Reflections, Carolin Widmann's new CD, features solo works beyond and since Ysae, by Boulez, Sciarrino and Jrg Widmann.
