LAST PLEURISY'S BIO BEFORE THEIR SPLIT It was Pleurisy's 3rd demo "Degenerated to a Human Life" in '95 which got them a lot of positive feedback from the scene. The fast-paced "1000-riffs a song" Death/Thrash Metal with 2 lead-vocalists had a quiet overwhelming effect on a lot of metalheads and resulted in their first deal with Magnificence Records from Austria. They released Pleurisy's split-CD "Unholy Spheres" with German band Asgaya in '96. After this release a lot of concerts gave Pleurisy their well-deserved attention. A year later 1 vocalist left and Pleurisy headed up to a new label Power Records for the first full-length CD "Experience the Sacrilege" which came to life in '99. This great release showed Pleurisy's skill to arrange songs with hypnotising melodies within fast Sweden-like Death/Thrash metal. Great reviews couldn't help the poor distribution of this release, so Pleurisy worked hard on a lot of gigs to promote themselves, which led to high-acclaimed gigs as support for Cannibal Corpse and the great Czech Dynamo festival together with bands like Vader and Immortal. A few months later vocalist Johan left the band and Pleurisy had to find a new vocalist. George Oosthoek (ex-Orphanage) came in and with him Pleurisy wrote and recorded their 2nd full-lengt CD "Dazed & Deranged" for release in 2003 at Soulreaper Records. George's experience, great voice and presentation worked very well with Pleurisy's developed more groovy melodic Death Metal style and again great reviews were written! They now needed a proper promotion, so a succesful tour with legendary Death Metal pioneers Master took Pleurisy through Sweden, Germany and Holland! Added were gigs supporting Arch Enemy and Gorefest, and great festivals like Fuck The Commerce (with Obituary, Entombed and Dissection) and the prestigious X-mass fest supporting Exodus and Hypocrisy which gained Pleurisy a great live-reputation.
