When Duran Duran's rhythm section linked up with Robert Palmer and Tony Thompson in 1985, the result was something tougher and more physical than anything in their individual catalogs. The debut album hit the top five on both sides of the Atlantic, driven by a cover of T. Rex's "Get It On" and the hard-funk swagger of "Some Like It Hot," proving that the New Wave moment had real rock muscle underneath it.
The Power Station (40th Anniversary Edition) The Power Station celebrates it's 40th anniversary and the debut album with a special 2LP gatefold vinyl release. This set features the remastered album, an unreleased 1985 live performance, Live Aid recordings, raw instrumentals, and remixes. The Power Station was an '80s/'90s rock and pop supergroup comprising singer Robert Palmer, former Chic drummer Tony Thompson, and Duran Duran members John Taylor and Andy Taylor.
