A singles compilation that features early recordings with the Famous Flames dating back to 1958. This masterpiece offers a solid introduction into James Brown's musical feeling. These recordings provide the listener with the opportunity to peek in on the still-growing vocalist and hear him paying homage to his early influences. The intense rhythms with the usual sentimental mood renderings are so typical of his early performances and can all be heard here. Without a doubt this is the material upon which James Brown's kingdom was built.
