Chrissie Hynde has always operated on her own terms, and *Get Close* arrived at a moment when the Pretenders were essentially her solo vision rebuilt into a band, following the devastating losses of Pete Farndon and James Honeyman-Scott. The album leaned into a cleaner, more radio-friendly sound without surrendering Hynde's edge, and "Don't Get Me Wrong" became one of the defining singles of its era.
Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Pretenders' 1986 pop-rock classic Get Close, the album will be released on a limited-edition white vinyl featuring a brand-new remaster. Get Close features big tracks like My Baby, Hymn To Her and the Pretenders classic Don't Get Me Wrong.
