New Orleans brass band music doesn't get more foundational than the Dirty Dozen, the group that bridged the city's traditional second-line parade tradition with jazz, funk, and R&B in ways that opened the door for every band that followed. Recorded at the peak of their powers, this 1989 release captures a band that had already reshaped what a brass band could do, and sounds as alive today as it did rolling through the French Quarter.
Rebirth Brass Band is a cornerstone of New Orleans' cultural heritage and is one of the most influential brass bands to come out of the city. Their album Feel Like Funkin' It Up has become a New Orleans classic with the Mardi Gras hit songs "Do Whatcha Wanna"and "Feel Like Funkin' It Up". This is the first vinyl reissue since it's 1989 original pressing."
