A West Texas singer-songwriter with deep roots in the Abilene area, Red Shahan writes the kind of hardscrabble country that earns its calluses honestly. Hardland sits squarely in a lineage that runs from Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt through the Texas road-worn tradition, built for those who want their stories unvarnished and their guitars upfront.
Old songs, new songs, a couple tunes from a good buddy, and a lifetime of stories and experiences wrapped into 11 tracks. I'm grateful for everyone involved in this record and it was a blast to make. - RED SHAHAN
