The Singles soundtrack encapsulated the Pacific Northwest’s early Nineties grunge era even better than the Cameron Crowe-directed rom-com it was adjoined to. While it was missing certain big players, it remains a staggering Seattle scene document that unites Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Mudhoney, Screaming Trees and many more. A legendary soundtrack spread out across two slabs of vinyl, now packaged with a bonus CD of live tracks, b-sides and demos from Chris Cornell, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready and the movie’s fictional slacker supergroup, Citizen Dick.
