Lux Interior and Poison Ivy built their entire world around the dusty margins of American music, the forgotten rockabilly 45s, the bargain-bin horror soundtracks, the swamp R&B that polite society had tried to bury. Flamejob finds them deep in that obsession, a record that sounds like it was unearthed rather than made. For anyone who came to The Cramps through the live ritual, this one holds up loud.
One of the most important rock bands of our time, The Cramps breathed life back into long-dead rock'n'roll in the late seventies by applying the anarchic energy of punk to the most primal origins of rock. This 1994 album is a perfect introduction to what makes The Cramps such a special piece of pure, unadulterated rock'n'roll.
