Tipitina's, the beloved New Orleans club that opened in 1977 and took its name from a Professor Longhair song, became sacred ground for Louisiana music, and Chenier was exactly the kind of artist it was built for. The King of Zydeco spent decades collapsing the walls between Creole tradition, blues, and R&B, and a sweaty Saturday night on Napoleon Avenue was his natural habitat.
Colored Vinyl, Rust Marble. Made in NOLA. "This extraordinary 1980's performance features the undisputed Zydeco King, Clifton Chenier, at the height of his powers, delivering a captivating and energetic live performance at the iconic Tipitina's."
