Miami's own KC & the Sunshine Band built their empire on the dancefloor, and "Now Playing" gathers the hits that made Harry Wayne Casey and his crew the architects of Florida funk. Their Hialeah sound, rooted in equal parts soul, R&B, and Caribbean rhythm, gave "That's the Way (I Like It)" and "Get Down Tonight" a looseness that disco's slicker productions often lacked.
