The December/January 2007 Relix issue features our Les Claypool cover story and more! "Les Claypool is an extraordinary musician. He is a modern-ass primitive, audiophile, shade-tree mechanic and self-made man...He's a real good egg. Onstage he brings to mind a hopped-up, plugged-in Groucho Marx," says Tom Waits. In 1997, ten years before this issue's publication, the odds of jamband fans lovingly embracing Primus frontman Les Claypool seemed slim. But, within those ten years, the lauded bassist and hilarious eccentric had flourished within the jam realm. If forever busy, he's also always expanding his reach: bass geeks, funk fans, hippies and metalheads all continue to fall under his spell.
This issue also includes articles and features on The Grateful Dead, Tea Leaf Green, Liz Berlin, Stewart Copeland, The Black Keys, Jim James, My Morning Jacket, Josh Clark, Brad Barr, The Slip, Wolfmother, Solomon Burke, Bob Weir, The Waybacks, Gillian Welch, and more!
