New York City nightclub Outer Heaven introduces its eponymous vinyl-only record label: Outer Heaven Records. For its debut release, pioneering psychadelic tech & disco duo Red Axes debut 3-track club EP.
A1. Salty Dog: A quintessential entry into Red Axes robust catalogue of indie house music. All of the signature flourishes are there: bouncy sub-bass, organic percussion, and acid-drenched beach rock vocals. But then around 2 minutes, some unexpected magic kicks in, a dreamy spoken word interlude bringing us into the track’s first breakdown. Salty Dog is a steady spacer sure to get the entire dancefloor oscillating in unison.
A2. Tempelo: Tempelo is a dark, driving acid techno tune that evokes a haze-filled room, with a singular strobe. An undulating mass of sweaty bodies, and delayed regret. It’s a big tune, and yet it feels stripped down to strictly essential components. This one is meant for the latter portion of the night.
B1. Pastery Sheff: This is the secret weapon. There is a reason it is sequestered to the B-Side, a hidden gem for those brave enough to flip the record over. A thumping groovy Acid House belter with a trippy oft-kilter vocal sample meant to induce confused smiles.
