Recorded almost entirely by Wonder himself, Innervisions arrived during a remarkable creative stretch that also produced Talking Book and Fulfillingness' First Finale, a run of albums that permanently reframed what soul music could say about politics, spirituality, and Black American life. The synthesizer textures and rhythmic precision here influenced generations of producers long before anyone coined the term "neo-soul."
Stevie Wonder’s 1973 album, Innervisions, won the Grammy for Album of the Year and features the hit singles
“Higher Ground,” “Living for the City,” and “Don’t You Worry ‘bout a Thing.”
