Released in 2009, *I and Love and You* marked the moment the Avett Brothers carried their tireless road-worn following from the folk and bluegrass underground into a much wider conversation, without softening the emotional rawness that made them essential in the first place. Scott and Seth Avett had spent years building one of the most devoted live audiences in Americana, and Rubin's production gave that intensity a sonic backdrop worthy of it.
I and Love and You is The Avett Brothers' major label debut, produced by Grammy-award winning producer Rick Rubin. The album tracks are diverse and unique, ranging from striking ballads to energetic romps.
