Released just before Tony Allen passed away in April 2020, There Is No End was completed posthumously, with Allen's hypnotic drum tracks serving as the foundation for collaborations with a remarkable constellation of artists including Skepta, Damon Albarn, Lasisi Elenu, and others. Allen spent decades as Fela Kuti's drummer and musical director, and the polyrhythmic language he helped invent in Lagos echoes through every groove here, connecting West African tradition to hip-hop, spoken word, and contemporary jazz.
