Produced by Chuck Jackson (of the production team of Jackson & Yancy, responsible for Natalie Cole's many hits), Going for the Glow featured several stellar compositions like the US Top 30 R&B hit, the funky, dance-flavored 'Scuse Me, While I Fall in Love,' written by a then-emerging solo star Luther Vandross and longtime friend, singer/songwriter David Lasley; and two compositions - the infectious title track and 'It's Something' (later recorded by Lalah Hathaway) from stellar tunesmith and artist in her own right, Brenda Russell.
